Welcome to Limeburners & Giniversity Margaret River
When Cameron was looking for a home for his budding new gin, the South West was always a stand-out choice. Surrounded by towering forest and only minutes from the stunning coastline, Margaret River Distilling Co was established just outside of town amongst the native Peppermint trees.
When visiting Margaret River our cellar door is the perfect place to experience our craft spirits, or while away a few hours with friends over delicious food and cocktails. Also available are local beers and wine, or freshly roasted coffee from our friends at Commonage Coffee.

Location
This location is an integral element to our gin expressions, which feature a number of native botanicals only found in this corner of the world.
In 2005, we were the first craft gin producers on the mainland. Cameron’s strategy was always to create ‘centres of excellence’ for his distilleries, where the distillers could focus, and hone their skills, on a limited range of spirits. In 2015 Margaret River Distilling Co moved to its own premises, and in 2016 the gin was rebranded as Giniversity.
The South West region is one of 34 internationally recognised biodiversity hotspots. This classification is used to identify those areas that have an exceptional and concentrated biodiversity, and the endemism of species living there.
The distillery is also home to a number of fruit trees that are over 50 years old, which are carefully harvested and included in recipes at the cellar door kitchen (and occasionally our gins!)
Riverglen Chalets - The Giniversity Campus
Margaret River Distilling Co is located next door to Riverglen Chalets, set within 7 acres of majestic forest. It’s the perfect place to stay in Margaret River, within walking distance to the distillery, Margaret River township, and a range of walking and bike trails.
Each self-contained chalet is a peaceful oasis, with everything you need to kick back and relax.
