Heavy Peat is one of our most awarded expressions. Not only winning a world title, but also Champion Australian whisky for 2 years running.  After tasting this expression, World Whisky Bible author Jim Murray declared that Limeburners “has single-handedly put Western Australia on the map as one of the great whisky-making regions of the world.”

This exceptional Australian whisky was made using peat collected by hand from near the Valley of the Giants in Walpole. The Giants, being the rare and majestic 400-year-old red tingle trees that are native to the area and grow nowhere else in the world.

Barrelled at absolute cask strength, this is peated whisky as it sits in the cask, and Heavy Peat is bottled as individually numbered cask expressions.

Each barrel will exhibit its own unique characteristics, creating slight variation from batch to batch.

Jim Murray's Whisky Bible 2024 - Score: 91.5 out of 100.
